Non traditional roast chicken ideas

I have a whole chicken I want to roast but I don’t want to do a traditional roast. Has anyone got any ideas?

I was thinking doing a honey harissa roast chicken but unsure of what to serve with

Spatchcock it and serve with roasted veg - a spicy tray bake of potatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, onions etc and a home made aioli

I would serve that with a roasted veg couscous with lots of herbs, hummus and flat breads. Or you could do a herby chicken and then roast cubed potato, peppers, onions and garlic in a tray and serve those.

Not roast but a whole chicken - I love this poached chicken with star anise recipe. So tender and delicious.

I know you said roast, but I've just popped a whole chicken in the slow cooker to make chicken pho. It's delicious and a bit different!

Look up ‘Greek Chicken with Orzo’ - Diana Henry.

I tend to add lots of roast veg to the Orzo too.

Poached whole chicken is a nice, less oily, alternative. Add a load of herbs and veg and you get an excellent stock too.

This is lovely. Served with their cumin spiced roast vegetables.
