Here! I have this book and another one of hers and I really like the food and style of writing.

ooooh, i think the recipes in that book are great but the family recollections are nauseating. have you made thelamb, cumin, potato and tomato bake, bran? it's wonderful.

I haven't yet, but I will try it since you recommend it. I hardly ever actually follow a recipe, but I love to read cookbooks to get ideas and then cook my own versions in the style of whatever has drawn my attention.

it is TRULY fantastic. and so easy to do. my pal (vitomum on here) made it for a girls' night in the first time i had it, and we demolished the whole dish. i've made it since, literally ten mins prep, cook for a couple of hours, fiddle with some tinfoil and then bring it out of the oven to gasps of delight. serve with a salad, dd loves it.

I like the idea of 10 mins prep. I will go and look it up in a little bit, provided nobody posts an interesting thread on here that might make me forget where I was going.

(I know it's a bit sad, but I quite like shmaltzy recollections. )
