I got a smoothie maker for Christmas and want to start each day with one. Something that packs in the fruit and veg. Does anyone have any tried and tested recipes they can recommend that might also be good for my skin too. (40 something sleep deprived mum, need all the help I can get).

Is that a smoothie for 1 or 2 people? Still figuring out how much to use, not being critical in case it seems that way!

I think you have to wing it a bit. Our bog standard smoothie made in a nutribullet and enough for 3 medium glasses or 2 largish ones is:

Large handful of mixed frozen berries (1/2-3/4 of a cup?) (ups the plant variety)
1 banana
Apple juice
Oat milk (for dairy intolerant DD) / yoghurt
Small handful oats as above - increasing bio gut stuff)
couple of tablespoons flaxseeds (for the Omega 3)
Water if necessary to thin it out a bit

I sometimes do pineapple (fresh), frozen mango, orange juice with some fresh ginger and the juice of one lime. I have been known to add a banana but it's not as good!

Hey, not at all. Should have said. I have a Breville smoothie maker, it’s 600ml. I usually have that myself, it would be all I have until lunch.

*Also put a generous heap of flaxseed in too.

woodenbatandball · 03/01/2025 20:28

Ohhh thanks for suggestions so far and adding flaxseed such a good shout. @BingBongBoo86 I have the Breville too so this is great to know it's enough for one

I like nut butter, banana, oats, milk, flaxseed, a dab of honey and a few drops of vanilla.

Or for something more fruity: berries, cream cheese or yoghurt, milk, honey.

Or if I need it to be really easy then apple juice and frozen smoothie mix.

Frozen berries and apple juice.

But am keeping an eye on this thread for more ideas!
