Meringue leaking

I've finished baking it and left it in the oven to 'dry out'. Why has it done this, and is it safe to eat? Thank you.

Thanks that's interesting, I had it on 120c as Instructed but maybe my oven is hotter as it's still fairly new.

Don't use cold eggs. Do you keep yours in the fridge?
Don't add sugar too fast, and make sure it is dissolved
Don't overcook
Adding cornflour and white vinegar works for me if making pavlovas
I make them a lot as my family always request them.
Trial and error really using these tips, plus using freshest egg whites works for me.

No I keep my eggs in the cupboard and was bought the same day. I added a tablespoon of sugar at a time but maybe I needed more time in-between. I cooked for the bare minimum the recipe asked for as I was worried it would turn colour. I also used cornflour and vinegar (1tsp of each).
Very odd then. Maybe I'll try again another day.

It does look like it's undissolved sugar melting and leaking out. I always find it helps to heat the sugar beforehand in the oven, it dissolves much easier that way, have a look at the meringue girls method.
