personally I don't see pineapple has any place other than in a pudding but that's my personal preference

and I can't envisage pineapple and egg together

I think gammon cooks better as a joint than steaks (just tastes nicer)

the rest of it sounds lovely

think it's 'or'

Kathyis6incheshigh · 02/05/2008 14:03

Yes, rhubarb! We had that the other week and it was lovely - the sweet/sharp flavour set off the quite fatty, salty gammon very nicely. I would guess that would work with the egg but not too sure about the cauli cheese.

foxinsocks · 02/05/2008 14:03

I think you do one or the other

do the egg

aah I am glad you have come to that conclusion without ANY of us being rude about your menu .

Now Kathy, we were just gently sterring yorkshire AWAY from the fruit .

AS a joint with colcannon, gravy, and other veg of choice

OsmosisBanana · 02/05/2008 14:10

parsley sauce n mash

Fruit has no place in cheese. And strawberries have no place in salads. But fruit with pork is generally a Good Thing in my view.

mash=perfect for soaking up the rhubarb juice.
Honest, I am not making it up. My mum cooked it the other week and she's quite sane kitchen-wise.

this is by far the best ever gammon recipe I have ever come across (despite it being Delia). May not work for you tonight, though, due to the crackling bit - though you could probably miss that bit out ok. In general is v good recipe for the prepare ahead-ness of it.

foxinsocks · 02/05/2008 14:30

mash is nice with gammon

because you can put LOADS of butter on it and that goes nicely with the sweet gammon

What are you cooking now yorkshire? We've got rid of the pineapple have we?

Where do you live? Would you like to come to dinner at my house so I can convince you?
