White cabbage salad

I have a white cabbage that needs using up and after lots of stodgy meals I really want something nice and fresh. Does anyone have a tried and tested white cabbage salad recipe?

Just finely shredded with some nice dressing? Blue cheese, with walnuts perhaps, what about with raisins or sultanas mixed in?

Caraway seeds are nice with cabbage, you could do olive oil, caraway and cumin seeds with chopped spring onion, keeping it nice and light and subtle.

White cabbage lasts forever in the fridge. There will be a nuclear holocaust and the white cabbage will remain! 🤣

@soupfiend thanks, love the sound of the caraway seed one will definitely try that ! I also found a Lebanese style one and a German one which I'd like to try. It's a huge cabbage so maybe big enough for all 3 😅.

shred it very finely, mix it grated carrot, lots
of parsley, finely sliced red onion & cucumber and you have one of the most common salads in the middle east
dress with lots of lemon juice, olive oil,
and seasoning, sumac if you have it

My MIL makes a great kebab shop style salad with very very finely shredded white cabbage, red onion, cucumber and seasoned with mint (she cheats and uses some Colemans! Genius!). Great with falafels, mint yoghurt sauce and pittas

I make coleslaw just with Shredded white cabbage and carrot with mayo. It's lovely and fresh

I shred mine and then fry it off with some oil, apple cider vinegar, onion and/or Fennel, and add some caraway seeds and nigella seeds. It smells like a doner kebab and goes well with chicken and tzatziki.

I'd make an asian slaw....
