Airfryer liners. Pointless?

JMSA · 27/12/2024 11:46

I recently bought an air fryer and did the Christmas roast potatoes in it. I used a liner, but of course the airfryer drawers got messed up anyway. And then I had the reusable liners to wash as well as the drawers.
I must be missing something here. Is it just me or are the liners completely pointless? The fact they have holes just means that the fat drips through anyway.
Happy to stand corrected and thanks in advance!

I found them useless, things don’t crisp properly and, as you say, things drip through so it still needs washing anyway. The paper liners without holes are just as useless.
Depending on what I’m cooking, I tend to just use foil then wash and recycle it as our local council collect foil with our other metals.

Thanks for your reply! I wasn't sure if tin foil could safely be used.

Perhaps it depends on what you cook but I've never felt the need for a liner. Clean up is so easy as nothing sticks to the pan.

I have a couple of silicone inserts that are handy. They don’t have holes so much less cleaning if time is tight or we need to use it twice in a row. Good for sausages, chips, chicken, salmon. We have a vegetarian so have one specifically for meat.

My liners don't have holes in. I use them when I am doing something like roast vegetables and salmon and the drawer stays clean.

I use a silicon pot as well, goes in the dishwasher & lasts forever.

I use silicon liners in mine. They're brilliant and much easier to wash than the whole drawer.

The non stick paper ones are completely useless
