What to make for veggie mum and picky teens?

Thinking to invite friends over. Last time I did veggie chilli which didn’t go down well with the kids. What would you make to suit a family with vegetarian mum and teens who seem to be difficult to please (or maybe it’s just that my cooking isn’t very good)

possibly thinking I might get general party food instead so everyone can just have sausage rolls/quiches etc

How old are the kids? I would probably do a vegetarian lasagne. Otherwise a couple of ready made pizza which I would add extra toppings to. Kids depending on their age could top their own.

Can’t you ask what they normally eat? I’d do some sort of make your own fajitas / tacos. Nachos with melty cheese on the side tends to be popular with teenagers. That way they can choose what they like.

Cheese and tomato pasta bake, with optional green salad and garlic bread

Thanks. Kids are 13 and 15. Their own mum cooks amazing curries which they eat. By there is no way I can live up to her standard

All day breakfast with veggie sausages for those who prefer them.

Fajitas is a shout - you can do chicken in fajita-spiced breadcrumbs. Stir fry loads of red pepper and red onion, buy extra wraps and a generous pot of sour cream, chopped chilli pepper to sprinkle over. A big bowl of green salad leaves. If you’re feeling flashy make your own guacamole and salsa ahead of time.

I do know kids who won’t eat fajitas though so maybe check in advance with their mum

Macaroni cheese with garlic bread.
