Ham in advance

If I make a ham on the 23rd how long will it keep? Some will be eaten on the 26th and 27th but could I freeze the rest?

Thinking of making one in ginger beer. Has anyone tried that before?

Thanks!

Yes and yes. Cooked ham will keep over a week in the fridge but if you want it to last longer slicer it down and freeze. Ginger beer is delicious on ham.

Brilliant, thank you. I have houseguests who are rather good eaters so I suspect it will all go in a week!

Ham once cut is best stored in a cotton bag (pillowcase) that has been soaked and wrung out in water with a dash of vinegar. Refresh every couple of days. It can last for ages that way.

Interesting, thank you for that tip.
