It's use by is the 15th but I don't want it to go to waste. If I make a cake with it or something, will that milk not go bad in it for a while? What should I make with it?
TIA

Could make a big batch of cheese sauce and freeze it.

Make custard for a dessert.

Garman · 13/12/2024 12:19

Do you have a freezer?

OhBling · 13/12/2024 12:22

You could freeze it but you'd need to be prepared to use it quickly when you defrost it which could be annoying.

I'd make cheese sauce and freeze in appropriate sized portions so that I could use it for lasagna or cauliflower cheese or in small bits as a cheese sauce to make some veggies a bit more flavoursome.

I usually do a clafoutis or flan. You can make a couple and freeze one. Or poach some fish in it and then make a white sauce with it and make fish pie if you want savoury. That freezes too.

Make pancakes and freeze them?

SereneCapybara · 13/12/2024 12:55

I'd make at least a litre of cheese sauce for macaroni and cauliflower cheese.

And maybe a lovely smoked haddock, potato and corn chowder with paprika, parsley and chives..

I usually make a mac & cheese , and everyone a hot chocolate.
Or you can freeze it - leave room in the top of the container for it to expand or the bottle will crack in the freezer. It'll also need a good few hours to defrost!

Decant it into a few smaller containers and freeze
