Stock

I have always (at least for the last 30 years) made and frozen my own stock.
The last offspring have left and we aren't eating enough big meals to get enough bones/veg off cuts etc to make either meat or veg stock from.

Can anyone recommend either a stock supplier or a brand which is full of flavour but not random additives please? I'm happy to portion and freeze it myself if it needs to come from a catering supplier. I have been disappointed by supermarket canned stock, stock cubes etc but if someone can recommend a good one I'll try it.
Thanks

Also - not what you asked but my mum buys chicken carcasses from the butcher to make stock for very little.

I use the Tesco Finest stock in the pouch, which is nice. No idea about additives though. But much better than stock cubes.

That said, I also used to go get beef bones from the butcher for stock. They would just give them to me for free as otherwise they were going in the bin anyway.

What about buying a large bag of chicken wings, freeze them and just get a handful out to make enough stock for what you want?

I use knorr stock pots. Much better than cubes

The frozen concentrated stock from Marks and Spencer has changed my life..
I buy the chicken and beef.

Last night I oven cooked chicken and melted on one of the stock pieces, then sliced the chicken to have in a sourdough sandwich with homemade veg soup.

Next level stock OP.

I’ve just bought some of this https://www.marksandspencer.com/food/concentrated-chicken-stock/p/fdp20002098

I haven’t tried it yet but the ingredients look ok.

I bought this as it came first in a taste test..telegraph maybe? It's very good.

Oh wow, I’d have got this instead of the jar one if I’d seen it. But I searched for stock and they call it broth so guess it didn’t come up 🤦‍♀️ . And now out of stock anyway….

If you're into making your own stock, just make one like normal but reduce it down and make your own Knorr stock cubes then it will last for ages.

Yes I tried to put some on my Ocado order yesterday but they were out.

It's really expensive, but it has improved some of our meals so totally worth it.
