But not one with butter in if possible. Prefer cereal, oats, etc. TIA.

Sometimes I just use breadcrumbs, perhaps with a bit of grated cheese in it

HTH!

It's a pudding crumble!

That's what I assumed.......

Okay, then I usually go with the classic flour/oats mix with half their weight worth of marg, half their weight worth of sugar.

Not sure about the lack of butter though, what kind of pudding is it? If it's fruity, could you not just sprinkle some oats on top for a bit of a crunch? Maybe a drizzle of honey over the top, serve with greek yogurt?

Am I WAY off the mark?!

Hard to do a crumble topping without butter. Ummm maybe a bit of golden syrup to bind it?! Although butter wuold be better for them I think

I made your apple crumbel cake the other day nab and it was delicious, thank you

Do you mean no butter specifically or not fats in general? If it's just no butter then sustitute with drop of oil, otherwise if no fats you could try mixing in some ground up sunflower and pumpkin seeds with ground hazelnut and almonds, this helps to hold things together a bit (though not much) once cooked. Still fats I agree but healthy ones and full of protein and minerals as well. A little honey or syrup will help too.

Oh right, just breadcrumbs and cheese aren't really pudding things here!

The reason for no butter was because I couldn't be bothered to rub it in! The crumble is apple and sultana.

Fab, MamaG. Eat it within 2 days as it isn't as nice after 3.

lazybones! Cake doesn't usually last past the first day in this house...

DS's 1 and 2 liked it, DD didn't. Completely cheated porridge oats and some honey mixed together and spooned on top.
