Would you risk eating this

On Sunday I cooked veg and mash etc during the daytime with the plan of just cooking the chicken in the evening and microwaving the veg (as we were going for a few drinks and didn't want to cook while tipsy.) We ended up eating out and as the week has gone on the veg is still in the fridge. My question is, shall I chuck it out or will it be ok today to microwave? It does seem like a long time. Shall I do a smell test?

Yes. It's veg it's been in the fridge. Why not?

Yes or fry it up into bubble and squeak.

WillowTit · 05/12/2024 07:21

of course it will be fine

I'd just half heartedly check that it wasn't hairy and then eat it, probably as bubble and sqeak as suggested above.

Should be fine. My cut off is usually 3 days but with veg and mash a 4th day wouldn’t worry me.

Well this has cheered me up. Chicken is still in date. I have an enforced day at home as I had a minor accident yesterday and have been advised to rest up. DP has his work Christmas shin dig after work so I'll be eating that all to myself. Heaven! (Not to mention the chocolate and snacks I shall not need to share.) Thank you everyone xx
