Pudding..what do you give your children?

I have just smeared one digestive with Nutella, and one with ice cream and sandwiched them together.

Desperate measures for a family that needs to go food shopping.

What do you give your kids for 'afters?'

BTW my trademarked Nutgestive was delicious.

Sliced fresh fruit with a small chocolate treat
yog
fromage frais
lidl mini ice creams on a stick (great size for smaller dd/dss')
cupcakes
or crispy chocolate cornflake cakes

okay, for my kids, it's sometimes homemade:

spiced apple cupcakes with crumble topping - yummy with custard

baked cheesecake

apple or pecan pie (the only 2 pies i can make!)

Often though its:

a penguin/kitkat biscuit
choc ice
yoghurt
gawd would you believe it - Easter eggs - my damn kids won't let me melt them down to make krispie buns, and there's still 4 totally unopened on top of the kitchen cupboards

Got to tell you though of my vvvvvvv favourite pud as a little kid (and I think my parents sill make it ):

big chunky slice of shop bought chocolate swiss roll - nothing fancy, the cheap one with strangely white whippy synthetic "cream" in the middle, topped with a tinned peach half - in syrup - with lots of the tinned syrup sloshed over the synthetic chocolate sponge, and topped with.....wait for it...

...cold tinned Ambrosia custard

damn, them were the days, when we didn't know what calories or E numbers were!

Ooh, garcia, you've just reminded me of what my mum used to make for us as kids as a 'posh' dessert - Jamaican Ginger cake, stabbed all over with a skewer, the syrup from a tin of peaches poured all over it, said peaches lined up on top, then all smothered in squirty cream (whipped real stuff if she was feeling domestic goddessy) and left in the fridge for half an hour or more... oh lordy it was bloody yummy! I want some!!
