Urgent sausage help

aggretsuko · 02/12/2024 16:13

I bought these sausages at a food show a couple of weeks ago. They were kept chilled, I picked them up at the end of the day, chilled on the way home and froze as soon as we got in. Not sure how clearly it shows up in the picture, but each of them have a distinct green stripe on them. They're not a very herby type of sausage, or anything green that might settle like this. Any ideas on what this is? Are they okay to cook, do you think?

They look like sausages and unless there is some strange smell I would say they look fine to me ?

They look normal to me.
I've done the same as you with sausages in the past and they often had a bit of discolouration across the top.
I've assumed (nothing scientific to back this up) that it's where the packaging touches the surface of the sausages and maybe there's some reaction or slight freezer burn or something.
I've certainly cooked and eaten sausages looking like that and I'm still alive and kicki

Thank you. They do smell okay, the colour is really quite vivid though, just wish it showed up properly on my camera

...kicking.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
The joke was definitely funnier in my head.

That sounds plausible, what you said about the packaging. Thanks
