Slow cooker stew recipe with dumplings

Does anyone have a decent slow cooker beef stew recipe that actually tastes nice & is child friendly - no overpowering flavours etc. I have a fussy DD & another DD that can be a bit picky.

Sorry I realise it’s probably been done to death this sort of request. The ones I’ve tried on google either haven’t gone down well or the recipes I’ve found don’t appear to be slow cooker friendly.

I make it up as I go along! Fry onion, fry beef, bung in slow cooker with tin of tomatoes and whatever other veg is handy. Cook for a couple of hours then make dumplings (300g sr flour, 150g butter or margarine, pinch salt, teaspoon of rosemary or some other herb I fancy, bit of water to mix to wet dough). Pop the dumplings on top and stick back on for 20 mins or so.
