Feeding 10 people for my Christmas birthday

Got friends coming round. Too many to make anything master cheffy. Tempted to make Christmas dinner. Would you hate this as a dinner guest ? It's a big birthday for me and I can cook this in my sleep and didn't want to go out and be forced to eat fixed menus. Being a Christmas baby is naff when it comes to organising anything but 8 good friends are coming for dinner. I love cooking but want to make this one pretty easy. So- Christmas dinner or a roast, baileys cheesecake and a crumble, cheese and port and some kind of salad starter. Would you eat this ? Or prefer something else ? I've done fancy hot pot and home made pies last two times
I'm Veggie so will also cook myself something but can make all the rest of a roast veggie

The more Christmas dinners I can rack up over the festive season the better so this sounds ace! Especially a homemade one! Go for it!

Op, your menu sounds amazing!
I could eat Christmas dinner 23456789 times lol.

bless you for being so accomodating but make sure you have an amazing veggie dish for yourself! And happy birthday!!

That menu sounds amazing, my idea of heaven! Definitely go for it.
Is the cheesecake homemade? If so, can you share the recipe? 🙏

prayerforsun · 20/11/2024 23:42

It's a yes from me 😋

StrawberryTriflng · 20/11/2024 23:44

Sounds perfect. Happy birthday 🎈

Idontevenknowmyname · 20/11/2024 23:48

Would you like a new bestie? Am available all of December…
That sounds lovely, enjoy!

Oh oh oh. I feel quite emotional. DH said no to Christmas dinner but I think I'll over rule. The baileys cheesecake is an old recipe but I'll dig it out. Or is it a baileys tiramisu ? I'll ponder

Sounds so good and would be super excited to eat this for a mate's birthday

Especially the Baileys cheesecake!

I think don’t do turkey or goose but any other kind of roast absolutely 😋

healthybychristmas · 21/11/2024 01:12

How near is that to Christmas?

Shittyproblem · 21/11/2024 12:02

I'm pleased with whatever people take the trouble to cook for me.
However, I'd prefer anything other than another Xmas dinner !

littlesnatchabook · 21/11/2024 16:42

I'm always on board with a roast, it's my absolute favourite meal. A Christmas roast, even better. I actually came on to say it depends how close your birthday is to Christmas but I've decided it's irrelevant and a roast is always welcome in my belly.

Travelcrazy · 22/11/2024 09:58

I have 7 friends coming for dinner on the 20th and they all actually WANT Christmas dinner, we had a vote!

Gettingtoooldfforthis · 22/11/2024 10:06

How about doing your tried and trusted roast-in-your-sleep but with a different meat? Beef would be good and give you a chance to ring the changes with the sides.
Another plea for the recipe for the pud.
You're planning well ahead!!
