Hi, hosting a party tomorrow and feeling overwhelmed at the prep and at what point to cook what food. Small fridge problems!

im going to make this trifle :

would this be ok made tonight and left overnight in the fridge or not?

is it also ok to make a birthday sponge cake today and ice this evening, and leave uncovered (it’s a shaped one so won’t fit in cake tin?) Will it go stale?

help much appreciate! Thank you!!

Winter Trifle Recipe with Berries

Winter berry trifle

This stylish winter berry trifle is a great twist on a much-loved classic. It looks impressive on the table but is actually very easy to make

Trifle is always best the next day. Leave the berry syrup topping until just before serving.

Sponge cake can be left overnight to dry out a little and firm up before icing.

Sorry. Read your post again.

Ice today if it suits you and tomorrow will be lovely. Pop a stiff plastic bag over it to stop draughts.
