Thermomix or Ninja?

I have no experience with a Thermomix or a Ninja but would love to get one. How to choose between them?

Thermomix is an Aston Martin and the Ninja is a ford fiesta!

whichever you’d prefer!

Ninja what though?

Neither product replicates the other , any Ninja cant not do what the thermonix does

I have two ninjas , the dual drawer air fryer and the 15 in one. Both cook completely different to each other - although both are air fryers. Some days I only use the dual, today the 15 in 1 has been in constant use ( its on now making yoghurt)

You have to think about what sort of cook you are, not the cook you aspire to be, to decide what product is best for you. I cook for a family, I work, I want dinner on the table quick, I also want to batch cook at the same time and not to have a pile of dishes. I also cook from scratch. We dont do "fancy" we do basic good food. Today in my 15 I made a bolognaise, a sweet potato and red pepper soup, cooked the pasta, then threw in the milk to make the yoghurt and used the dual to do fish and chips

My wee sister has a thermonix, she rarely uses it now after the initial oh wow

@suki1964 totally agree - I use my thermie daily and my ninja only occasionally, so definitely depends what you want!

I use both frequently. The other day I used the ninja to roast some veg which I then put into the thermomix to make soup.

But I made soup today in my 15 in 1 , roasting it, then adding the liquid, pressure cooking, then using a stick blender to blend - one pot, and a £10 blender

Thanks - this is a helpful start. I have little patience time for cooking and I don't find it very enjoyable. I am not an imaginative cook! Rather than falling back on "things to put in the oven" approach for 3 to 4 days a week - I'd like to improve dinners and find it just hard to get it right... I am leaning towards the Thermomix as it also chops and measures if I got that right... I can't justify two machines at the moment and even if I could, I think I'd be overwhelmed 😂

I absolutely love my thermomix! I make all sorts in it, guided cooking makes it so easy. My son uses it a lot too, mostly for pizzas and cake( he made an amazing Black Forest gateau last week). I’ve had it for five years and use it most days. Today I have a day off and plan to make chicken soup, patatas bravas, key lime cheesecake, beef burgundy, seeded crackers, and pastrami for sandwiches. And I’m planning a few frozen mango margaritas later. I know I sound like an ad, but I honestly wouldn’t be without it.

@suki1964 does the 15 in1 chop? I didn’t use a knife or chopping board or blender. Just the 2 machines. And the tray for the ninja was spotless so just needed a rinse. I could make soup entirely using the thermomix and often do by cooking the veg (which is what I did with the base mix) but I needed roast veg for the flavour.

the thermos doesn’t roast or bake. But does everything else: chop, mix, boil, steam, cook…

I also used the thermomix to make dough for bread. I used the oven to cook it…perhaps need to consider the ninja,

@illdreamon I love my thermomix and use it 3-4 retimes a week. It great for soups, dough (pizza, bread), sauces. It’s a bit like my iPhone though and I don’t use half of what it can do! I really love it.

We love to use our Thermomix it is not only the machine that cooks, it is also thousands of recipes that you can chose to cook. We cook recipes from all over the word and we love them.

I haven't heard of Ninjas but we use our thermomix a huge amount. We eat so much more home cooking as a result of how easy it is to make say pizza now, and I really enjoy using it . We've had it about 2 years and use it most days, sometimes several times eg to make custard, lemonade, scones , risotto. It's lovely it does the stirring and frees up a lot of time . I find it a bit annoying to wash when doing lots of things but it's worth it .

MarjorieDanvers · 10/11/2024 09:20

@Schoolrefusa I make my thermie wash itself first! Although it brings such joy I don’t mind taking it apart for the final brush up!

I love my Thermomix. I also have a Ninja, but they are totally different. I use my Thermomix every day and am finding new and interesting recipes that I would never have thought of cooking before.

I put off buying one for many years, because of the huge cost. I kept reading about them and watching YouTube videos etc. Eventually I was so convinced that I bought one. I don't regret it for a minute. We used to eat too many ready meals and other convenience food, so now we eat more healthy meals too which is an added bonus for us.

I wouldn't be without it. It's money well spent for us. (I'm not a Thermomix seller!)
