Healthy, Easy, and Car-Friendly Dinner Ideas for Kids Before the Cinema?

I'm picking my kids up from school at 5pm and we’re heading straight to the cinema at 6pm. Looking for ideas for a quick, healthy dinner they can eat in the car – ideally something easy to make and (if possible!) not too messy. Any suggestions?

It may depend a bit on their ages (teens vs early primary), but our classic Sunday night easy dinner is cheese and crackers with sliced apples or hummus, carrot sticks, crackers and grapes. You can also do the same in wraps and add some extra veg (cucumber, etc) and ditch the crackers. I assume you’ll have popcorn anyway so that will help fill them up too.

I used to have to give DS dinner int he car on the way to his sports activity. these were our preferred options:

Anything in a wrap or roll - I could still do hot food by wrapping in tinfoil. Fajitas were a popular choice or sometimes I'd do crumbed chicken steaks (ready made) in a roll with lots of salad. I also used ot do wraps with halloumi and chargrilled greens that Id' squeeze lemon and honey into the pan at the end to caramalise a bit and make a sauce. Fish finger wraps popular too.

Back up option were pasta that coul dbe eaten easily out of tupperware - so pasta pesto with bacon and peas, or a tuna pasta salad.
