Can I use a half leg of lamb to make scotch broth?

I have tried to research online but there are so many different recipes I can’t work it out.

do I need to roast the leg first and use the leftovers? Or can I just put it in the pan as I make the soup?

I always wanted to know how to make scotch broth and i am in a mission to do it now

I'd roast it first.
Then boil up the bone to make stock and then use the stock to make soup.
Add little bits of lamb if you want.

Thanks. That’s it in the oven now
