Gluten free Xmas pudding recipe

I can't find gluten free stout anywhere. If I use GF pale ale and replace some of the sugar with treacle, would that approximate the flavour that stout gives?

Could you find a recipe that doesn't use stout? I've never heard of stout in Christmas puddings. It's usually brandy.

Both Sainsbury's and Waitrose have an excellent Xmas selection and not just own brand. Based in London.
Schar Xmas range is amazing
Sainsbury's Yule is better than non GF
In case you want to buy one.

I like making my own. Besides, I've already bought over 2kg of various dried fruits for all the mincemeat, cakes and puddings I plan to make over half term.

I've always made the pudding with stout.

Becky Excell usually has pretty good recipes for this kind of thing - here's one that was posted by Nigella Lawson credited to Becky Excell. I've not made it as I'm not a fan of Christmas pudding but have made other stuff of hers

For any recipe requiring gluten free stout I use Old Dungeon Ghyll Stout bybthe l Brewery - all their ales are gluten free.

Well if you want a gluten free pud, you'll have to make it without stout this time.

There are a few but a lot are available online and might have minimum orders.
Hambleton Brewery do gluten free beers including stout - this one is at Waitrose but showing not available at the moment

There's Also St Peter's Cream Stout Gluten free and Birmingham Brewing Co do one as well.

Otherwise I would add treacle as you planned - I add it to gravy because cornflour doesn't give the same colour as Bisto powder !

Not necessary. Quite a few gluten free stouts these days

Yes, there are loads online, but I've gone to so many of the places that are supposed to stock them - and they don't have them. Lots of lagers and pale ales, but no stouts. I've left it too late to order online. I'll know for next year. 🤷🏻‍♀️
