Need to make puree for DS but can't be fagged with peeling and chopping it. Can I cook it in the oven and then chop in half to scoop out flesh?

No. You have to peel it and take out the seeds. WHy don't you cube it and then boil or steam it using some of the water or BM to puree it down?

FrazzledFairyFay · 24/04/2008 14:36

I have done it by chopping it in half longways, scooping out the seeds and then roasting the two halfs. You can then scoop out the flesh at the end.

cut it in half first, drizzle a bit of oil on, put in roasting tray.

roast, scoop out and puree.

I like it but the skin is so tough and ahrd to chop that I rarely bother with it these days. very nice though after the effort!

bluesky · 24/04/2008 14:38

now where else can you get 3 answers in 6 seconds!?

forget to say scoop out seeds

if you quarter it lengthways, easy to get a knife and whoosh out the seeds before roasting

I know bluesky - totally love mn! What temp should I do it and for how long?

you don't have to peel it first, cook it, then it's easier to just scoop it out of it's skin etc. Would take a while to bake through though.

Holymoly321 · 24/04/2008 14:56

can anyone tell me at what temp ad for how long?

OP posts:
gracepaley · 24/04/2008 15:05

just chuck it in, whole, no foil. About 40 minutes on 180 ish depending how big it is.

Holymoly321 · 24/04/2008 15:08

thanks gracepaley - have already quarted it though as it was quite big. will this still be ok? and do I put it in cut side up or down?

OP posts:
gracepaley · 24/04/2008 15:15

oh well add some olive oil then. I put it in cut side up or down depending on what I feel like. I really think it's a no brainer. Hope you and your ds enjoy..........

Holymoly321 · 24/04/2008 15:16
