Baking a sandwich cake but each shelf only got room for one tin

Do I have to bake one then the other or can I have one on top shelf and one on bottom? I would swap halfway but I was always taught not to open oven door in middle of making cake. Thank you

If it's a fan oven it shouldn't make any difference. They'll be fine on 2 shelves whatever the sort of oven.
