Just ordered one of these. What cuts would you expect and any particular receipes people like?

I haven't heard of these since I was a child in South Africa and my parents used to order them from a farmer they knew!

From memory, we used to get a couple of roasts - leg and shoulder probably, lots of lovely lamb chops and ribs (we used to cook those on the bbq). I don't actually remember what else would have been in there. Probably bits better for slow cooker/stewing.

When we sell lamb boxes, we ask how they want it butchered, but the standard would be leg and shoulder roasts either whole or halved, shanks, rib and loin chops and either rolled flank or mince. We are rarely asked for a half carcass so I can't remember what happens to the neck.

I get a couple of butchered lambs and it always goes pretty quickly.

I try to make tagines and other casseroles early on otherwise it tends to languish in the freezer in big chunks. Google Gordon Ramsays Shepherd Pie

We have just bought one of these. Got a few roasting joints, some burgers chips and some mince. I'm going to make a moussaka with the mince.
