Insects

I've got the option to try crickets and tarantulas tomorrow. I'm an omnivore, nose to tail eating, but a bit hesitant about insects. Anyone tried them?

Why?

Not very helpful without giving a reason.

Did you try them? I've tried crickets and found them a bit flavourless to be honest.

You didn’t say why you were hesitant?

If you’ve got to the stage where you’ve fallen for the “you must eat insects” crap then what can we say.

Yes, thanks for the only answer I've received. They were bland.

Just asking a simple question and hoping for replies. I'm in a country where they are eaten

I'm sorry that was just like reading nightmare material for me. Although I know we're all different. I have a phobia of spiders

Didn't think much about eating crickets to be honest

I’m not sure I could because of all the legs and imagining picking these out from between teeth but for sustainability eating insects is meant to be good. I guess a lot of changing pf attitudes is required, it’s not a texture and visual we’re used to.

I know, but, gross, eat lentils or something

We've had grasshoppers - crunchy snacks. I thought they were quite nice. The children were teenagers and tried them too. They were bought by a colleague of dh so eating them was the appropriate thing to do. Crickets I could do. Don't think I'd fancy a tarantula though.
