For the last 12 weeks, ASDA Brighton Marina have been taking products like ASDA large eggs and replace them with some obscure brand small/medium eggs, and still charging the price of the large eggs as the substitute.
If this happened just once or maybe twice then it would seem sus. The fact that it has been happening on every shop for the last 12 weeks says it is organised. Curious to see these apparently perpetually missing eggs, we drove to the store today the moment we got the substitute notice and hours before the delivery truck arrived, and would you credit it, every single one of these products was on the shelf in abundance.
That got me thinking, how could a same day express delivery have none of these items in stock, yet the website doesn't say out of stock, as well as the product not actually out of stock at all.
Eggs, bread, Asda branded items in general are the ONLY items we get these subs on over and over again, and we're always charged more for less, with the "less" being the obscure lidl-esque product of a much smaller size/lesser amount, and the audacity to charge the price of the larger product.
I think our store is on the fiddle, shifting crap from brands no one has ever heard of at the price of Asda branded products of larger/greater cost.
Its always on basic products like eggs, milk, bread, pasta, veg. I think they are getting away with it because people begrudgingly accept it as the alternative is having to go to somewhere else to buy instead.
I decided a fortnight ago to start handing back the garbage to the driver, as they are unsellable once they are out of the store, so it's their money they lose, but if sufficient people continue to accept the garbage then this institutionalised fraud and dishonesty with intent to permanently deprive will only continue and get worse.
Do your duty and don't stand for it. Waste their time and money, not yours.
