Hi everyone.
can I please have some ideas on what to do for my sons birthday party? Basically (please don’t ask why) I need to do a party for 6 year olds and it must be vegan, nut free and liked by my autistic DS whose main diet is cheesy brown stuff. I’d be so grateful it’s my son’s birthday and I want it to be great for him. Thanks x

Vegan pizzas and potato wedges? Or were you thinking more of cold food like crisps, biscuits, breadsticks etc...?

I'd raid the frozen vegan section in the supermarket to be honest.
They will all be labelled for allergens so you will know that they are nut free, although a lot of vegan food does contain nuts so you might be limited.

What does he usually like to eat?

Quorn do some vegan stuff, eg sausage rolls (check though as not all their stuff is vegan).
Vegan crisps should be easy to find
Carrot / cucumber sticks, grapes, raisins
Vegan jelly
Jam sandwiches
Biscuits eg Jammy Dodgers and Party Rings

Is your son a vegan?? Or is it just one other child?
Nut free is fairly easy to do, just watch any cakes or biscuits you might buy.
I would be having my child’s favourite foods and then looking for a vegan substitute if it was my party!

I’d love to wedges but it’s for a load of kids and I’m not sure there’s an oven in the village hall. Was thinking more like bread sticks.

Unless it is your family and your son who is vegan, I really wouldn’t be making all the food vegan food. I would do some things he likes (what does he actually eat?) and then some vegan alternatives. Crisps, veg and then some sweet treats.
Things that can be precooked- pizza, sausages. Sandwiches rarely get eaten but you could do some.
