all comers welcome - sauce, no sauce, I'm up for anything, but at the moment I know nothing about cooking steak.
Will be eating it with new pots and green beans..

I like mine medium or if I'm in the mood, medium-rare

Lovely with a peppercorn sauce or a mushroom sauce and served with dauphinoise potatoes

I've no idea how to prepare those sauces, though... that's dp's domain

Enjoy, whatever you do!

Do you have any double cream ?

Do you have any stilton ?

Do you have any onions ?

Spink · 21/04/2008 19:22

we have double cream!
I should point out I need full instructions, from how hot to get the pan, whether to use butter/olive oil/both, how long etc etc.....

Do you have peppercorns and brandy ?

Spink · 21/04/2008 19:24

peppercorns - yes, brandy - no..
don't mind going sauceless if we don't have the right ingredients

Smoking hot pan with dab of butter.

Sprinkle salt and ground black pepper on the steak.

Cook for 2 minutes each side.

Serve with salad.

In that case, make some garlic butter, and cook as per Colditz.

Spink · 21/04/2008 20:29

ooh, thank you it was fabulous! we went for without sauce and with garlic butter. YUM! In fact was so good that I don't even want dessert because that would take the taste away!
