Hi guys last night I let some zolfora and hot water sit in my frying pan to steep as I didn’t have any fairy liquid left and I thought the steam from the hot water would make it smell more strongly of zolflora and today when I washed and rinsed off the pan for cooking I guess I didn’t rinse it good enough as I could taste a slight hint of zolflora my kitchen did smell quite strongly of it because I used it last night for wiping the cupboards down I didn’t do the dishes with it I just rinsed them off and let them sit in the sink till this morning when I got some washing up liquid, so at first I thought the slight hint of zolflora I was tasting was actually my nose playing tricks on me because the kitchen smells really strongly of it, but when I took the food into the living room I could still taste a hint of it not on my tongue but at the back of my nose of that makes sense I had to concentrate really hard to taste it, I got paranoid so threw a whole pan of delicious food away I googled it and it says it’s acutely toxic, but I imagine it would only be a tiny trace of zolflora left on the pan so would it be ok?

no

but the smell of zoflora alone is enough to make me feel nauseous

nutrosti · 20/09/2024 13:42

i mean no you haven’t been poisoned!!

KerryBlues · 20/09/2024 13:43

You haven’t poisoned yourself, but what possessed you to use disinfectant as a sub for washing up liquid??

letmego24 · 20/09/2024 13:47

What is Zoflora?

nutrosti · 20/09/2024 13:58

letmego24 · 20/09/2024 13:47

What is Zoflora?

you don’t want to know

Anoisagusaris · 20/09/2024 14:04

Why do you need to use zoflora on your cupboards? Isnt it a disinfectant rather than for cleaning something grubby?

And there was me thinking that disinfectant is designed for cleaning grubby things.
Confused

You're poisoning yourself just by using Zoflora in your home. Get rid. It's unnecessary.

Peonies12 · 20/09/2024 14:14

letmego24 · 20/09/2024 13:47

What is Zoflora?

literally a poison

Anoisagusaris · 20/09/2024 14:15

In my mind disinfectant is for killing germs. You need a something soapy or like Cif for getting rid of dirt.

Sparklyhat · 20/09/2024 14:26

It's only a disinfectant so doesn't actually wash things. I'm sure a trace amount won't poison you though anyway

Well, you’re wrong. It’s for killing bacteria, not cleaning grubby things.

shellyleppard · 20/09/2024 14:31

@letmego24 its a very floral smelling disinfectant

Starlight7080 · 20/09/2024 14:35

Why would you use it to clean pans anyway ?

nutrosti · 20/09/2024 14:53

Starlight7080 · 20/09/2024 14:35

Why would you use it to clean pans anyway ?

or indeed anything at all

MeMyCatsAndI · 20/09/2024 14:55

No but you'll probably have a dicky tummy for a few days.
Don't ever use it for washing up, just use hot water if you have no washing up liquid left. The fumes alone from mixing with it hot water is poisonous.

Lollibert · 20/09/2024 15:17

Hi guys I like to wipe down cupboards with it not to disinfect but for the smell I love the smell

and the taste it would seem!

Lollibert · 20/09/2024 20:40

@nutrosti no definitely not the taste I’m still upset about all that food I had to throw out!

acutely toxic

They have to put this on the bottle because it's concentrated. Once diluted as you're supposed to do, it's less toxic.

letmego24 · 20/09/2024 23:08

Thanks - I only use eco friendly mild stuff like Method for the last at least decade so didn't know. Many years ago used disinfectant sprays seemed a bit old fashioned and absolute no to doing the washing up with it, more for the toilet.

A headache inducing stench..equals zolflora.

Thevelvelletes · 21/09/2024 03:22

Zoflora

TheSandgroper · 21/09/2024 10:12

Give your pan a good scrub with bicarb or salt followed by lemon or vinegar. Rinse very well.

And learn to like the smell of fresh air rather than synthetic stuff. I despair of the English thinking something isn’t clean unless it stinks to high heaven (not looking at DH or MIL at all …)

One might expect bacteria to be present on grubby things, surely?
