I’m looking for ways to jazz up a plain 3 tier Waitrose wedding cake. My friend is getting married next month, the wedding budget won’t really stretch to £500 + the local bakers are charging so suggested she gets a Waitrose one but now need ideas on how to jazz it up. Any suggestions? This is the cake

What are the wedding colour/s and what flowers are in the bouquets?
I agree with others to change or cover the existing ribbon with a wedding coloured ribbon.
Either fresh flowers, using a little plastic holder that covers the stem of the flower so it doesn't touch the cake or sugarpaste, pre-made ones. Some cake decorating stores sell these or cake suppliers.
Do they want a topper or already have one? This could be a generic, off the shelf bride/groom (or whatever the married couples combo is). You can get personalised ones which are sugar paste or clay, although cutting it fine with only 1mth to go. You can get initials intertwined standing up 3D and lots of other ideas.

Have they looked at any cakes online to get inspiration?

@marylou25 well, I am at a loss. I wonder what plant florists call eucalyptus?

The site you linked talked about black berries and I don’t know about that either. All the eucalyptus around here produce flowers which develop into seed containers/gumnuts.

Anyway, further investigation came up with https://www.webmd.com/diet/eucalyptus-is-it-good-for-you so perhaps there is something to it after all.

Eucalyptus: Is It Good for You?

Find out what the research says about eucalyptus, who should have it, and how it may affect your health.
