Ultimate comfort food day

I have had an awful few weeks (family bereavement) and today I have finally got a day off work, no life admin, TV and sofa to myself so thought about really settling in with my favourite shows and food. I was curious what yours would be? I'm not ordering takeaways so stuff from home.

This morning I had a bacon sandwich with a hash brown and orange juice and then went back to sleep.

Later I'm planning either mushroom risotto with a garlic and cheese foccacia from a local bakery I bought yesterday or spicy ramen noodles with pork gyoza, coriander, spring onions and mozarella melted on top. It's amazing.

I have walkers ready salted and salt and vinegar crisps, haribo gold bears and a magnum ice cream for snacks.

I'm having lots of water today and some dry rose wine later.

My shows of choice are Emily in Paris and Selling Sunset.

Am I missing anything to give me a really big hug of a day?

Sorry about the bereavement.

You haven't mentioned your bath filled with oils or bubbles, lit by candles with soft music in the background and a towel and robe heating on the rail, clean bedding and PJs.

Also a really trashy romance or cosy crime novel on your kindle?

Itsdare · 15/09/2024 14:52

Ahh I wish I could have a bath, mine is a bit too narrow to enjoy comfortably but I am about to have a nice warm shower before I put fresh bedding on for tonight.

And a really rich hot chocolate with marshmallows in just before bed.

Book is a good idea, I picked up an old favourite recently which is super cosy to read, thank you

Yes! Hot chocolate is a great idea, I have some Bournville cocoa powder so may have that with milk and sweetened (maybe squirty cream too?)

Yes to squirty cream!

Put some cheesy music on and silly dance around for five minutes at some point to clear the cobwebs.

Edit: just realised this was for food, lol. Eat a biscuit after as a reward. 😉

So sorry to hear you’ve had such a rubbish time and sorry about the bereavement.

mine would be a bath, iPad playing something easy to watch, a glass of wine. My go - to is greys anatomy and a bottle of Pinot noir 🤣
Then a full roast dinner with all the trimmings!

I’d probably treat myself to a full body massage if I could find somewhere.

hot choc with marshmallows.

sushi!!!

😅

Sorry for your loss.
I'd add to that a brisk walk in fresh air / nature to prevent the carbs and lying around making me feel sluggish.
Hope your day is relaxing and restorative
