Vegan at a fondue!

Have planned and prepped a fancy fondue for tomorrow night - with fruit and veg, pickles and chutneys etc etc. Now have a random extra vegan - any ideas for a dish I can offer that they can eat with bread and all the fondue trimmings? NOT doing vegan fondue as vegan cheese is actually vomitous.

I love the idea of a dal fondue for another time! Give me a bowl of lentils and a nan bread any day. But agree that wiyh last minute diets needs, some hummus and baba ganoush is a good way to go.

Dips is absolutely brilliant - should have thought of that myself!
The vegan is very welcome, much loved, and would eat dry bread without a murmur, if that was all that was on offer.
Thank you!!

If you are going to very kindly go to the trouble of providing a vegan option then please let the non-vegans know not to eat it!
It is always the people who start off making disparaging remarks and jokes about vegan/vegetarian food who then end up ‘just trying a bit’ and then polishing off all the vegan/vegetarian food.
I’m not saying you and your friends are like this OP, but it is sadly common IME.

Dips a great idea as fondue is essentially a warm dip.

If you wanted to do something warm and dippy for the vegan guest, what about a really tasty tomato sauce? Less work for you and easier for dipping the veg in than ratatouille (although ratatouille lovely for dipping bread I agree)

I’d get some hummus too

Yes, grab some hummus and another dip from the supermarket, job done.
