Quick Pointless MN Poll - HOT DOG SAUSAGES - love 'em or hate 'em?

You know, the real cheapo 6 in a tin in brine things.

Is there such a thing as a decent one or do they all contain scrotums and lips?

Cos I have to confess to loving them.

I like them but we tend to get the ones out the chill cabinet which seem to have a bit more meat in them and a bit less crap. Nice in a finger roll with fried onions and ketchup - yum!!

I like the frozen frankfurter ones more, or the mini ones in a tin, the beef ones are particularly addictive.

DS never has them, but I can eat a whole tin to myself

I don't care where the 'meat' comes from, lips, scrotum, ears, to the body it is all the same protein anyway!

I used to like them till someone said they're the sort of thing you expect to find a vein in. DD1 loves them, the Herta/M&S ones retain their structural integrity better

Tivall do frozen vegetarian ones and guess what - they're indistinguishable from the 'meat' ones!

Really 2sugars??..vegetarian ones! ooohh, do you get that same smoked salty flavour though? (plus no risk of veins)

Like them, used to eat them quite a bit but cannot bring myself to give them to dd's somehow so have had to abstain for ages now!

Bleurgh - have you ever looked at the ingredient list on the tinned ones? I threw some out a few years ago after looking at the ingredients and I've never bought them since - wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

The Ikea ones are marvellous. I love any hot dogs, though.
