Home made ice-cream recipes please - don't have an ice cream maker

Any tried and tested recipes for ice-cream I can serve with grilled pineapple pls? I don't have an ice-cream maker and don't want to be smashing ice crystals every hour or so. I usually make Nigella's lemon meringue ice cream which is fab cos you just make it, freeze it and forget about it til needed. But I make that all the time and would like a change. Any ideas? (recipes you've made yourself and know work please, I can find loads in books and on the net but would like to know they do work having had one disaster a few years ago) Thanks.

3 egg whites
250ml cream
1 tin condensed milk
1tsp vanilla essence

Beat egg whites until stiff
Beat cream until stiff
Beat condensed milk until stiffens and add vanilla essence
fold in cream and egg whites into condensed milk
Put in container and freeze

Thanks nagapie. Is that the thick, sweetened condensed milk?

A semifreddo ice cream would work as they don't need rebeating after freezing. The only one I've done is the Jamie Oliver one with maltesers but I'm not sure if that would go with grilled pineapple.

Thanks Mrs Tweedy. I think I could probably adapt a combination of that recipe and nagapie's, adding lemon juice to flavour and leaving out the maltesers (this time, but will defo try WITH maltesers another time!) Still waiting for nagapie to advise whether thick sweetened condensed milk in her recipe....
