For me - very classic, cream of mushroom or cream of chicken.

Home made....pea and ham (my butcher does ham hocks). Shop brought.... carrot and coriander with a warm naan bread 😍

Lentil and bacon, or pea and ham hock.

My fave too…I ‘pop’ some mustard seeds in the pan first & maybe add a potato for more texture…delish!

Roasted tomato, pepper and chilli. Very easy to make and lovely in the winter (although I suppose all soup is pretty good in winter!)

Leek & potato

My favourites are,

Vegetable and lentil
Carrot and ginger
Cauliflower and leek

Butternut squash and mango (made with mango chutney). Gorgeous.

French onion soup ( a good stock is essential)
Ribolitta. ( a gorgeous soup, cheap to make and far more than the sum of its parts.) Felicity Cloake has a good recipe.

Tinned

I do like a nice pea and ham. Very comforting.

Heinz tomato. Don’t even think of fobbing me off with the fresh stuff 😂

Sopa di Tortilla!

Though classic leek and potato is a close second

Chicken Soup, not creamy, but broth. Like minestrone, but with fewer veg and no beans. Small pastas are included.
