I have a Nigella recipe chocolate cake in the oven - and half a can of condensed milk left over. What do you suggest?

NutterlyUts · 13/04/2008 17:11

is that the stuff to make banoffee with?

ShinyPinkShoes · 13/04/2008 17:12

Oooh what recipe did you make?

treacletart · 13/04/2008 17:19

I've done the birthday cake recipe from How to Eat book. Do you think I could use it in the ganache instead of some cream?

Hmmmm I wouldn't personally as I think it might make it too sickly and rich.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 13/04/2008 17:30

Make some fudge with it.

gagarin · 13/04/2008 17:33

euuueeww - tip it down the sink

oggsfrog · 13/04/2008 17:33

Eat it with a spoon

MrsBadger · 13/04/2008 18:17

decant into a tupperware in the fridge - it keeps for ages - till you want to make another cake

(or spread it on toast)

brightwell · 13/04/2008 19:59

As children we used to have it on thick cut buttered white bread, used to love it. It would probably be too sweet now.

jingleyjen · 13/04/2008 20:01

make tablet with it
delicious treat..

AMumInScotland · 13/04/2008 20:01

I'm with Oggsfrog on this one...deffo eat it....

CeilingCat · 13/04/2008 20:04

Make ice cream with it (mix with 2 cups of single cream and some vanilla essence, then bung in ice cream maker). Or make chocolate sauce for icecream - melt approx 1 oz butter and 1-2 tbs cocoa then stir in CMilk over low heat.

Or post it to me, and I'll "dispose" of it for you armed only with a spoon.

serenity · 13/04/2008 20:18

Eat it with a spoon or have it in a sandwich

How about keylime pie?
Dead easy. Make a biscuit base(gingernut are good) mix condensed milk with same amount of cream and whisk in juice of 5 limes. pour ontop and allow to chill.

make a very simple Brazilian Passion Fruit Mousse (I have to have this every time i go there - its very addictive!):

Hmmmm well thanks for all of these.. I followed the everclever Mrs Bs tupperware advice, but seeing as I have a couple of passion fruit languishing in the fruit bowl and a little cream left over too the Brazilian Mousse has won - I'll let you know how it works. Chocolate cake was a big success even though we didnt bother with the ganache - DS decided to have it with vanilla ice cream (isn't that a la mode?)and it was/is scrummy.
