Branded versus non-branded cupboard staples

AIBU to think folk that buy branded goods in preference to supermarket own brands have more money than sense. Why do it? I mean boring stuff like baked beans, tinned tomatoes, sardines, flour, sugar, pasta, most breakfast cereals and rice etc. Does anyone really think Heinz beans are worth the premium?

Basic things like tinned tomatoes ir pasta, we usually buy own brand.

Things like baked beans however, has got to be Branston as Heinz has become as watery and hard as the supermarket ones.

I can actually taste the difference between Heinz ketchup and own brand, and Heinz tastes better. Same with Hellman's mayonnaise. Other brands taste very greasy.
