Disclaimer: because I have been here long enough to know how these things go 🥲
My husband does an awful lot for me and the general household and cooking evening meals is one of my very few jobs. Not really looking for ‘get him to make it himself’ if people confuse this food topic for AIBU.
I’m at the end of first trimester and I am tremendously unbothered about food. I need to eat regularly because of hyperemesis, but I am literally eating cheese sandwiches and shreddies and yogurt. I try and put berries with the latter for a bit of goodness, but I just cba. Sometimes I go nuts have chicken dippers with hot sauce…but even that’s too savoury. All I want is beige. It’s pretty liberating as I’ve usually been a huge foodie and it’s nice to not be too fussy.
I want to make stuff for DH and the toddler who is 2 and eats what we eat which is little faff and doesn’t cause chaos in my kitchen. They don’t need to be super healthy for the time being as toddler will have the veg she likes (frozen) on the side with everything.
tonight they are having quesadillas because it can be easily assembled in a pan.
tomorrow egg fried rice because that’s equally low faff if I don’t make it too complicated
i am also going to add those supermarket ravioli and sauce meal deals to my shopping basket. we don’t usually buy them but they enjoy them and it’s super easy.
do supermarket butches do gammon slices?? That’s easy to fry up with an egg and bread and butter.
Tinned things are out. toddler would eat beans on toast but DH wouldn’t.
Any more ideas appreciated. I want to build a meal plan of zero faff.
