What can I do with 240g of condensed milk? Any ideas?

Boil the tin in water to make runny toffee and make banoffee pie.

I also like a spoon in my tea and coffee.

I've also made this with oranges or limes, depending what citrus I have in.

Buy a pre-made, sweet tart case. Mix in a bowl 1 tin condensed milk, squeeze of lemon juice and the pulp of about 3-4 passionfruit or one of those little tins of pulp. Pour into the case and bake on about 160' till just starting to brown. let cool before slicing. Yum and SO simple.

Use it in place of honey in your porridge. I sometimes spread it on toast... yum!

Take the lid off completely and put a teaspoon in the tin. Place it, uncovered, in the fridge. Every few days pull the spoon out through the skin of gooey, milky toffee and eat it. Replace the spoon in the condensed milk and wait a few days for the next batch of gooey, milky, toffee skin to form. Eat and repeat.

😁

Search for @soupdragon's flapjack recipe on here. I may have used four cans of condensed milk this week (I was baking for a garden party. Mostly.)

Fudge.
I can't buy it very often because I can't be trusted to not just eat the whole tin with a spoon.

Tisfortired · 13/07/2024 12:20

I recently used it to make the caramel layer of millionaires shortbread.

Catsinaflat · 13/07/2024 12:24

Some great ideas - I think I may end up buying more!
Fudge yes! I'm the only one who likes it though so it would be all for me...
The dressing sounds interesting never would have thought of that but I will give it a go.
The citrus slice looks good, maybe lime with the coconut.
I don't often buy it but we bought a ninja ice cream maker recently (which is amazing by the way) and the raspberry crush ice cream called for 100g of condensed milk hence the leftovers.

Mix with 600 ml double cream to make ice cream

CurlewKate · 13/07/2024 13:13

Nigella's NoChurn coffee Ice Cream is amazing!

You could make brigadieros! They are a confectionery from Brazil. Condensed milk and cocoa powder, formed into small balls, rolled in chocolate sprinkles. Very tasty :-]

SummaLuvin · 13/07/2024 13:15

Tres leches cake - I love this milky tea one.

Make Mary Berry's double chocolate cookies https://thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/double-chocolate-cookies. 😋. You do need the white chocolate buttons though- doesn't taste the same with white chocolate chips.

Sorry you'll have to buy another can to do it!

My Dh and fil would advise the following

  1. put can in freezer preferably overnight
  2. take teaspoon
  3. take can of frozen condensed milk into a quiet corner with the spoon and make sure nobody disturbs it.
