Sorry - does have a bit of curry in it, but not that hot...

SmugColditz · 10/04/2008 18:02

I love curried mince

RustyBear · 10/04/2008 18:03

I put in garlic, thyme, coriander, marmite, black pepper & thicken with oats, not flour.

No1ErmaBombeckfan · 10/04/2008 18:04

But my mum use to make us savoury mince with a few raisins - makes the mince a bit sweet and I was a fussy eater when I was little and I never complained ...

brimfull · 10/04/2008 18:12

oats

what do you just sprinkle oats in ??

am hovering over it with a handful of raisins.

Give the raisins a whirl...

Pavlovthecat · 10/04/2008 18:20

bay leave/bouquet garnet (sp)

RustyBear · 10/04/2008 18:49

Yes, just a handful of oats - but not if it's nearly ready & you just want to add that little extra something, you really need to put them in near the beginning - they need a bit of time to cook.

They are best in hearty big beef casseroles which take about 3 hours to cook with lovely Devon tomatoes and lots of herbs & with baked potatoes....

blueshoes · 10/04/2008 18:53

garlic?

AmIWhatAndWhy · 10/04/2008 18:55

You need Hendersons

sunflowervalley · 10/04/2008 19:13

mushroom ketchup is great for flavouring.

JaneHH · 10/04/2008 19:19

All-spice and tom puree (and usual salt and pepper) is v tasty in shepherd's pie
