School fair baking ideas

I’d like to make something for our school fair and so I’m looking for ideas please that fit the following:

Nut-free
Easy and idiot-proof (not a natural baker!)
Not a cake or anything that needs to rise
Doesn't have a long of ingredients that start to get expensive when making large quantities ie butter

I already do rocky road and ANZAC slice or biscuits.

I make galaxy chocolate rice Krispy cakes often, everyone always asks me how i do it and to make more 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂

I make them in big cake cases too.

I add nothing just to clarify.
Just Galaxy chocolate and the cereal

Obviously you can jazz it up if you wish.

Just to add! Sometimes i drizzle different chocolate over them , so maybe white chocolate drizzled over the top etc.. :)

Yes, cornflake or rice Krispie cakes...I melt butter with golden syrup and a mix of dark/milk chocolate. They always go down well

Brownies are easy, or flapjacks?

AnCùDubh · 16/06/2024 14:16

My go-to is tablet but that's not the easiest.

You can make an easy fudge out of white chocolate and condensed milk.
The beauty of that is you can make variations such as adding Oreo's

You said no baking, so I'd get a packet of https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/300120998 these] along with a tub of icing and a collection of mini smarties of coloured sprinkles.

I home make the cakes, but usually these sell out quite fast.

Why can't it be cake or anything that has to rise? I'm intrigued!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 16/06/2024 15:05

I do a lot of school bakes and my absolute best seller is Betty Crocker box chocolate cake mix put into muffin cases, iced with tub icing and sprinkled with gold and silver decorations which can also be bought from Tescos. I am a really competent baker but these are so easy to make and people love them. Also with the cost of eggs these days it's a really cheap way of baking lots at a time. I always have people ask me for my recipe and I'm very coy and change the subject 😉

Thanks everyone for all these ideas - lots to try and not just for the fair.

@SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter its because I have mixed results with cakes rising / looking presentable and I don’t want to make cakes that aren’t worthy of being sold!
