... A lighthearted one. Kind of.

Less than two years ago a pot on Onken yoghurt was consistently a quid in every supermarket. Today? £1.95 for a bloody pot.

And I've just been to Tesco and decided to treat myself to a bottle of POM pomegranate juice. £4.80! I'm going to have to drink it by the cap full and savour every sip. It isn't even a litre bottle!

What favourite foods/drinks of yours have increased by a bonkers amount in recent times?

Heinz tomato ketchup.
Kelloggs cereals.

I just don't buy them anymore.

Branded cereals and crisps are ££££

Olive oil, £10 a bottle!

The expression cheap as chips feels quite ironic when I see the price of mcCains!

Diet Coke in a pub, recently paid £4.10 for a pint. And half the glass was filled with ice 🙄

Things like cheese, butter, olive oil, chicken, meat are all just outrageously expensive. I put a pack of 4 burger buns back on the shelf today as they were £3, it wasn't that long ago that they were £1. Everything is also smaller, less in a package or weighing less. I also feel like prices rise and then they are on offer a few weeks later at the price they should actually be.

A tin of Heinz tomato soup is £1.70 and Ben & Jerry’s is over £5 a tub.

I've just paid £3.90 for a punnet of not very nice strawberries.

Nutribrex (coeliac weetabix) peaked at £5 a box a while ago. It seems to have come back down in price to about £3.80 ish now, I know a lot of people were not willing to pay £5.

Olive oil seems like it has tripled in price, even at Aldi. It used to be around &1.99-£2.50 a year ago, now £7,49 at Lidl
