Any ideas? We normally get takeaway but it's getting silly expensive.

2 big eater men
2 small eater women
2 women with decent appetites
4 children, 4, 5, 8, 10.

• if you have a garden then BBQ where you have a selection of meats then people add what they want? Sort of like a Korean bbq place.
• roast lamb / chicken - simple but everyone always loves a good roast

Make some gucamole.

Bake a (birthday) cake for pudding

A couple of dishes of lasagne, bread (or garlic bread), some different kinds of salad and a pudding. Tiramisu would be the obvious choice but maybe not to kids' tastes. Ice cream or crumble or trifle?

Do you have a slow cooker or two? Or can borrow one?

Anything in one or two slow cookers and baked potatoes and salad and salsa and corn on the cob and other multiple sides.

A barbecue with a spit? So massive hunk of some meat, plus all other bbq stuff.
A pizza oven?

If it must be oven,then a roast with two or three meats.

It's going to rain tomorrow so we can't do bbq, that would have been our first choice.

I think I'll do a tray of chicken thighs, rice, salad, pittas.

Most of us are having roast beef today so don't fancy another roast tomorrow.

I wouldn't do pittas with boned meat, you can't put the thigh in the pitta without deconstructing it. How about some pulled pork? Or pulled chicken?

Agree a good chilli with rice, salads etc is fairly simple
