Mould in middle of apple? What happens if I ate some by accident?

I found disgusting looking mould inside the apple I was eating. Apple itself was a perfect apple but when I had a look to the middle I almost vomit.

Is this mouldy? Will it upset my stomach ?

The acids in your digestive system would most likely have obliterated it.

It’ll taste nasty and you will spit it out.

Done this several times. It's vile and puts me off apples for months, but I have never suffered any ill effects.

Our bodies have evolved to cope with a lot worse!

You'll be fine. I once ate the best part of a pita topped with hummus before I looked on the underside, which was completely green with mould. I lived. No upset tummy at all.
