But he does do all the washing. And he empties the bins.

Fimbo · 06/04/2008 17:20

Egg chopped up in a cup was a favourite of my mother's when I was ill as a child.

Dh is a better cook than me, so can't complain there.

robinpud · 06/04/2008 17:20

Anything Dh cooks always has the same ingredients.. tinned tomatoes, pasta and tuna. Sometimes he gets adventurous and adds peas..It doesn't matter if you are well or very poorly when confronted with that YOU will feel like BARFING

DJCod · 06/04/2008 17:20

egg choped up?

My dh decided to experiment with frying raw brussel sprouts in yohgurt and something else - which curdled - when I was 10 weeks pregnant . . . . He was let off cooking for the duration of the pregnancy . . . .

robinpud · 06/04/2008 17:22

I bet you are angling for an invite to tea aren't you Cod? I'll get dh to cook and we can make sick bags out of my best silk scarves. [ grin]

Beetroot and spinach soup.
Served at optimum scalding temperature.
In a bowl that was balanced on a plate, with a bread roll hanging on for dear life.
Just as my milk came in, the baby blues kicked in, and I was demand breastfeeding three-day old DS1.
And crying uncontrollably into a box of tissues.
We had words.
He went to get a chinese takeaway.

DJCod · 06/04/2008 17:22

I am ill today and have just made myself a cup of ginger tea and got a digestive...

DH is having enough trouble doing boiled eggs for the DSs

popsycal · 06/04/2008 17:23

my dad used to always make my mum a bolied onion (whole) with margarine melted on.....

DJCod · 06/04/2008 17:23

Horrible, horrible mince concoction. Spag bol is DH's comfort food, but that's my soopa doopa authentic Italian ragu - not his nasty 20 min hash job. not to mention that spag bol isn't my cpmfort food and I nearly puked when e placed a great steaming plate of beef in front of me 9shivering on sofa in duvet thinking I could smell soup being lovingly warmed on the stove...)

pointydog · 06/04/2008 17:26

He wouldn't cook me anything unless he asked what to cook first. He is regressing. He asked me how to warm up a croissant this morning. I was stony.

Tommy · 06/04/2008 17:32

mine just asked me to come and "help" - obviously 3 boiled eggs a bit out of his range so I won't hold my breath for a lovingly concocted bowl of anything for later

soph28 · 06/04/2008 17:49

lol @ most of these but unfortunately my dh would never cook me something without being asked either and given instructions on what to do. If I'm ill he'll either make himself toast or have nothing and wait till I get up and ask what we're having!!

cocolepew · 06/04/2008 17:54

When I came out of hospital after 2 weeks of continuos vomiting (pregnant with dd1), DH loving made me a full roast dinner. I asked for 1 scrambled egg. As soon as I smelt it I went to the back door and threw up. I was back in hospital by 7 o'clock.

DJCod · 06/04/2008 20:08

oh god!

Simnel cake is hilarious.Even I wouldn't wrestle with that prospect in full on culinary mode.

Dh never cooks.
He only cleans.

He does however give me size 20 stinking handtooled goatskin jerkhins from Tajikistan and act wounded when i won't waer them.

I showed it to my friend the other day and she wet herself for laughing so much.

DJCod · 06/04/2008 20:13

but hte funniest was when finbars dh was really ill and off work wiht a temp so celebrated it by cooking on a really hot day
adn NONE of us can rememerb wehat
it was somethign cake ish and useless
