Nice recipes for feta dip?

There's a delicious herb feta dip that m&s do, does anyone have a tasty recipe for homemade now it's lovely warm weather? Assuming it's a combo of olive oil, feta and herbs but always nice to hear if you've cracked a really fab one!

I would be interested to know this

And to jump on the dip thread and gatecrash a bit, another one Marks used to do years ago, was parmesan, artichoke and lemon. Outrageously good.

Anyone got any ideas as to how that one is made?

Some Feta, Greek yogurt, black pepper and olive oil all go the food processor.

You don't really need a recipe for that.

Add some dried mint and/or oregano and that's that.

It's the feta and yogurt that are the most important bits. Everything else is optional.

Proudbitch · 12/05/2024 21:22

Yes! Half a jar of roasted red peppers, a block of feta, bit of olive oil and some chilli flakes and lemon juice.

gets the most amount of compliments ever

soupfiend · 12/05/2024 21:25

I think the peppers would bring too much acid into it for me

TheTripThatWasnt · 12/05/2024 21:28

I do one with peas and broad beans. Cook frozen veg and blitz up with lots of feta and mint, and olive oil. Could add yogurt if you wanted a slacker texture.

@soupfiend I'm not an artichoke fan but like this?

Probably artichoke hearts ( buy in deli section) blended up to a puree with lemon and parmesan.

Its never just that though is it, there are other little bits in these things that are added in to make it more than the sum of its apparent parts

The dip someone posted above is an example, it contains pine nuts and parsley, I think Im going to try this later this week

bryceQ · 12/05/2024 22:04

Thank you! The artichoke one sounds lovely too! I've got basil and chives growing I might add those

Do you like baba ganoush? Completely irrelevant to what you’re asking but I’ve started making it recently as I wanted to expand my dip repertoire and I’m obsessed. The baby likes it too which is a result.

bryceQ · 12/05/2024 22:09

I like all dips like this. I eat loads of salads and quite a Greek / med way of eating so anything in this area I will very likely love 😂

Tonight we had sweetcorn fritters, baba ganoush and a tomato and avocado salad. This is the weather for ALL the salads.

Regular dips are hummus with any variety of chickpea or white bean, tzatziki, baba ganoush, a yogurt, mayo and many herbs one. I’m doing a new chickpea salad with spring onions, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, dried coriander and parsley.

soupfiend · 12/05/2024 22:13

I love baba ganoush, and mutabal

Ive just looked up the Marks feta dip, its out of stock everywhere apparently and I cant see pictures of the ingredients label but I now realise having seen the picture on the front that I have had this before, its irresistable, Im not sure it does have yoghurt mixed with it, or if it does, there is something else in it too.

bryceQ · 12/05/2024 22:15

I live next to an m&s I'm going to look on label tomorrow and have a little experiment at home. I always have feta to use up as husband doesn't eat cheese (weird)

@AnneLovesGilbert your food sounds absolutely delicious! I would love to eat all of that!!

I also live next to a French bakery which does the most delicious baguettes and the combo is very dangerous haha.

Definitely has yoghurt in, I read the ingredients last time I had it and meant to try and make it

Cottage cheese is really nice whipped up too in a blender

That looks epic, thank you.

Homemade pitta chips are a game changer with any dip. Likewise homemade pittas. I haven’t yet made homemade pitta chips with homemade pittas, which I should soon.
