Pickles, I want to like them but I just don't, they look so good though, exception being picked onions which I do enjoy

Papaya, hated it

Mustard, I think I just haven't found the right one yet

I really wish I liked grapefruit. I love the concept of a more bitter citrus, with a more complex flavour profile, but I hate everything grapefruit related. I thought I was making progress until I had a sip of my sister's Paloma earlier this year and it was a hard no.

IOMQuestions · 06/05/2024 21:28

Grapefruit too, in theory I should love the sourness…but it’s too grapefruity.

alittlebitworriedmum · 06/05/2024 21:28

I wish i liked fish.

When you see chefs cooking sea bass or something with linguine I really want to like it. It's clean, white, there's no dodgy cuts, however..

I am a cod and chips and tuna baguette type girl!

Tintackedsea · 06/05/2024 21:45

I'm not keen on saffron. It's beautiful and of course it's supposed to be a treat because it's so expensive but it tastes like headaches.

bostonchamps · 06/05/2024 21:52

Eggs. I've never, in my 30-somethings years, found an egg I like. Can be problematic when I eat brunch out a lot and i try to be meat-free 90% of the time.

I’m with you on that , have tried paella a couple of times but the saffron is a no for
me too

not keen on parsley either

I wish I found fish a treat like some people do. I think it's fine but no more than that.

AutumnBride · 07/05/2024 06:08

I wish I liked fresh peaches, I love the smell but I not the taste. I like them roasted in a salad or cooked in a dessert but not fresh.

I'm with you on that, I'm vegetarian and so many recipes I find or as you say breakfasts/brunches are egg related and they just give me the heebies. I can bake with them but not eat them as actual eggs for some odd reason

Mintearo7 · 09/05/2024 20:26

Coffee! Tried over the years, have got used the taste but my stomach flips out when I drink it. Miss out on the coffee culture a bit (I know, a bit sad)
Tempeh - would love some more high protein veggie option for our family meals but hated it

SendNoods · 09/05/2024 22:00

Any hot drink, I always feel so awkward when offered a tea or coffee. I'm another who doesn't like fish other than tuna or battered fish from the chip shop. Feta, wish I liked it but can't stand it. Lemongrass, I find it so overpowering and it can really ruin an other wise delicious dish for me.

I thought this was just me! Loathe eggs in any shape or form. So annoying when the two breakfast options on a BA flight are ham and egg wrap or egg wrap. How is that a choice?

CocoapuffPuff · 11/05/2024 07:47

Chocolate.
Get loads as gifts, like everyone else, and don't like it so give my gifts away instead of getting to enjoy them. Sucks.

weebarra · 11/05/2024 07:56

Eggs too! When I see DH making something like Eggs Benedict I really wish I liked them.

Simplepink · 11/05/2024 08:00

The flavour of truffles, like truffle oil - absolutely revolting and ruins any meal it’s poured onto

Redcarsontv · 11/05/2024 08:02

Olives. Would so love to eat them, went to a fabulous famous Spanish bar and would have loved to eaten them.

happyharpy78 · 11/05/2024 08:07

Avocado! Always looks such a healthy breakfast but there's something about the texture combined with the colour that I just can't handle.

merrymelodies · 11/05/2024 08:13

Seared tuna. It looks delicious but I loathe tuna in any form. Same with eggs Benedict or a cheese omelette - I can't eat eggs.

whatthejuice · 11/05/2024 08:14

Lamb! Too many really fatty Sunday lunches put me off for life!
Lemongrass as well
Fruit with meat so a lot of north African etc...cooking out for me.

StoatofDisarray · 11/05/2024 08:33

OMG, olives, pickles, dill, pasta, swede, matcha, chai, cucumbers, fennel: if any of those turn up in a dish my heart sinks.

I'm with you on this! Poses as decadent and I can't bear the pompous sod!!

Makinglists · 13/05/2024 18:00

Watermelon - looks so cool and refreshing. Tastes like midly sweet cotton wool. I can barely swallow it. Kind of makes my mouth feel itchy (not in an allergy way)

Deathraystare · 21/05/2024 19:34

Not quite the same but I really gone off cauliflower. If it s white and fresh it is ok raw but cooked especially if gone a bit 'old' I can only eat it in a cheese sauce.

I used to eat chick peas but I find them too heavy now.

Have you tried it grilled?

Halve the grapefruit, sprinkle with some brown sugar and grill until brown and caramelised. It's bloody lovely.
