Strawberry slush puppie - a gallon of the stuff! Not the weird blue raspberry one - what was that about?

SquigglePigs · 06/05/2024 14:27

Grape Kool Aid, cloudy lemonade , fizzy Vimto and hot chocolate.

Deathraystare · 06/05/2024 15:44

Tip top squash. Too expensive for us, our cousins used to drink it. Quosh - a red colour raspberry? Cherry ade (we only had it Christmas time. Ginger beer at Nan's. The powder milkshake stuff. Banana was my favourite.

newtb · 06/05/2024 15:55

Pineapple and grapefruit squash

HarrietSchulenberg · 06/05/2024 16:12

Water. Just tap water. I never liked fizzy pop and hated squash. Still the same now but with the odd cup of strong tea here and there.

EndorsingPRActice · 07/05/2024 23:02

Corona cherryade, full fat coke in a proper glass bottle and banana milkshakes

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 05/05/2024 23:53

Oh and milkshakes made with Angel Delight powder and double the quantity of milk.

My favourite-especially with a dollop of ice cream

BonzoGates · 07/05/2024 23:11

Cidona

mindutopia · 08/05/2024 10:54

Vanilla milkshakes. My grandparents would put ice cream in a jar with milk and some vanilla bean paste and sugar, put the lid on it, and give it to me to shake to make a milkshake, then they'd pop a straw in. It kept me busy for 5 minutes shaking it up to make the milkshake and tasted so much nicer than anything you could have bought in a shop.

Lime milkshakes - Wimpy
Hot ribena - no artificial sweetners
Lemon Barley water - no artificial sweenters
thick gloopy luzozade, glass bottle wrapped in orange cellophane, proper sugar and tons of it

Then, a drink that I cannot remember the name of, a thick gloopy orange squash drink that you mixed with water, but it was very thick and sweet, came in a glass bottle, we didnt have it often because it was apparently expensive, screw top with an orange lid, embossed spotty glass bottle Im sure.

MissingMoominMamma · 08/05/2024 19:49

We only had milk or water usually; half a glass of real orange juice on special occasions!

That emerald green tropical fruit drink which I think was made by Quosh but cannot find any images of online. Horlicks. Cream Soda, used to buy one in a transparent plastic can shaped bottle with pictures of the NYC skyline on it...some sort of seltzer brand. Lilt. Irn Bru. Orangina and Cherryade.

HospitalStayNHS · 09/05/2024 06:11

I loved dandelion and burdock but it was a very rare treat.

You were really ill if the lucozade was bought in for you.

Coffeesnob11 · 09/05/2024 06:35

It would be water as I had an anaphalactic reaction to something unknown aged 3 and after a week in hospital I was that kid who was only allowed water (not even milk as it caused my excema to go crazy) . My cousins used to drink so much tizer and I would sit there dreaming of having some.

RedHelenB · 09/05/2024 06:49

Cherry or grace slush puppies.
Dandelion and Burdock/tizer
