BBQ casserole too sweet help?!

Is there anything I can try to balance this? I'm always a bit fly by night with quantities but I've outdone myself today and made an incredibly sweet chicken casserole that was supposed to be BBq Smokey...

Can I try adding anything at this stage to give it some more savoury depth - marmite???

Vinegar might help to balance.

or unsweetened cocoa powder - might add a bitterness.

Try adding some vinegar as a pp suggested.

Marmite is actually a decent call, it gives both umami and saltiness. If you have any dried Mexican chilli could you rehydrate and blitz into a paste which should offer a savoury smokiness and maybe detract? Otherwise try amping up other flavours?

Sour - vinegar, lemon, lime, tamarind
Bitter - kale, chicory, coffee, cocoa
Umami - parmesan rind, tomato paste, porcini mushroom, miso (also salty!), msg
